Editors Thoughts Two

Welcome to editors thoughts two. I had to take another break because of some personal family issues. We’re back for this week though, and boy things have gotten crazy. Let’s start with the whole thing with the stock market. From my understanding the wall street bets subreddit decided to screw over a hedge fund, and collectively did just that. The bunch of mad lads bought up a bunch of stocks in Game stop and AMC. They drove up the price so when it came time for this hedge fund to buy again, it would be at an incredibly inflated price. This really spun a bunch of people into a tizzy, with popular trading apps limiting the amount of those stocks can be purchased at a time.

This exposed how rigged the market is. I believe politics will be brought into the situation. However we don’t cover politics here, so I digress.

State of PC gaming

My thoughts on this really haven’t changed. The fact that we are around 6 months after release, and new components are still out of stock, not to mention still being heavily scalped is unbelievable. I may not have been part of the PC community long, but I have never witnessed new tech being scalped to this extent before. Though I still see people post their new GPUs/CPUs every day, maybe things will level out soon. I am planning out my next build now, hopefully by the time i am ready to do the shopping it’ll be better.

YouTube progress

The content I had planned for the channel has been delayed for awhile now. Just with the uncertainty of some things, I just had to put it on the back burner. But no worries, our introductory video will be coming soon. I originally had an idea for a series where I learn the nuances of Escape From Tarkov. I ended up loving the game and playing it a lot outside of recording. So while that idea is canned, I’ll still do some recordings with friends, and see how that goes. I am also considering running some really old games for nostalgia’s sake. I suppose we’ll see.

QuasiHobbies

I didn’t really know what I was going to make of this site. We have a little wrinky dink store, some ugly but functional forums, and this blog. I still don’t know what direction I’m taking this. But we’re on this journey together, and for now I am alright with that. As long as I can pay for hosting at the end of this year I will keep going. For now this is just an outlet for me to share with you guys, and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read. I’m fairly certain that the name of the site is broad enough to cover everything I want to do here. I will just never, ever cover politics. There is too much of that in our everyday lives, and it does not belong here.
